Where warriors over-winter.

Derby Museum and Art gallery has some stunning Early Medieval Sculpture, and when I was last down I popped in to see my favourite piece. The Repton Rider.

Got to see the less illustrated Hell-Mouth that is on the adjacent face.




And saw another stone that I work on, from St Alkmunds.

Then we stopped by Repton church to see the Crypt and where the Rider came from.

A nice short trip out, I was really glad to see some of these objects up close and personal.
